Aadhaarshila The Foundation Stone . Est. 2002

ATFS Learning Center is located in Shrewsbury Massachusetts. We started as a tutoring service in March 2002 and have since expanded our services to After School Programs, Accelerated Learning programs and also to Remote Learning. In the past four years, we have built a reputation of being dedicated to providing excellent academic services with emphasis on cognitive learning. We have grown from one individual to multi staffed education institute. We have grown out of my son’s play room, then a 1000 square feet basement accommodating many student groups at a time, and now  to  a 5000 square feet independent building facility. ATFS Learning center has been covered in a lot of local news papers and magazines with excellent reviews. We have been recognized not only for academic excellence but also for coming up with innovative ways to keep children academically focused and motivated. Most of all, we have built and will continue to build excellent relationships with many families and stronger academic foundations for our children.

After School Programs, 2006 - 2007

Our after school programs create an environment and method of self discipline. Children mostly work independently and individually on their school homework. Teachers have a guiding role. Children are encouraged to identify and correct their own errors based on feedback from teachers. Beyond homework, children have an opportunity to work on ATFS worksheets including Math, English or Science. Children reinforce own learning and understanding by repetition of work and internal sense of success. Mixed age grouping acknowledges different learning rates as developmental. Child sets the learning pace at appropriate developmental rate encouraged and motivated by the rewards policy.

Enrolling season - March to June (Session starts September 2006)

The intellect of the child matures and takes new leaps. Conceiving, Imagining, and eventually fabricating thoughts and ideas into something they can touch, feel and enjoy. This year our program includes seven themes of summer.

Accelerated Learning 2006 - 2007

Accelerated programs are designed for those gifted and talented who just don't get enough in schools. Small group setting encourages children to teach others and to collaborate. They work with the teacher to learn new and exciting concepts, reinforce their knowledge through workbooks and guided work plan. Love for Math, Science and Language are essential parts of the classroom experience. Classes are held on Saturdays to accommodate out of town students. Instruction pace is set by the small group and topics covered are determined by the learning gaps identified during the process.

Personal Training 2006

Those students who need individual help to accomplish individual goals such as better grades in Algebra, Geometry, Physics or Chemistry, benefit from our personal tutoring sessions. These are flexible schedule, text book based programs geared towards covering a defined curriculum. Emphasis is laid on active student learning, sophisticated pedagogical strategies, specific examples and cases, collaborative problem solving and question answering, deep explanatory reasoning, convergence towards shared meanings, feedback, error diagnosis , remediation and affect. The results establish the fact that one on one tutoring is superior to normal learning experiences in a traditional classroom setting. These effects are quite robust. Schedules are need based and setting is preferably one on one.

Enrollment season - Sept - Feb (Sessions Start Sept 2006)
