After School Learning Program

One of our most popular programs is the After School learning program. We differentiate ourselves from other programs by the very concept. We believe that children learn more from the work that they do after school hours. That not only reinforces the concepts learnt during school hours but also gives them an opportunity to think beyond the box. We provide a nurturing environment where children finish their homework under the able guidance of our caring staff. Their homework is looked at for completeness, accuracy and also for evident conceptual gaps that can be easily fixed with additional practice. We are now enrolling for our 2005 - 2006 session. All enrollments are requested by August 15th, 2005 : After School...

Be a Volunteer and/or join our staff

ATFS thanks all volunteers who are helping during the summer camps. Each one of you has come in with a varied experience and skill, and has very willingly and enthusiastically worked with children to keep them brilliantly occupied. The children like last year, are thoroughly enjoying the camp and are learning a lot as well. It has been a pleasure and will continue to be so. As usual, the children come from wonderful backgrounds all so eager to learn , co-operate with each other. If you would like to continue to volunteer during the school year, please fill out the form on our website under "apply". That really helps out and provides a team feeling all across which also sends the right message to our children. In addition we also have part time, academic assistant and office assistant positions open. Please check our website and submit applications for both.  About Us..

Math Puzzles

Congratulations to Rajeev Chorghade, Jyoti Nehra, Neha Sharma and Sanjay Shah for getting the correct answer to June's Math puzzles. This months puzzles are as below. Please send your answers to gauri@atfsonline.com

Puzzle 1: What is the smallest number of cuts you need to make to cut a cube from a sphere?

Puzzle 2: Mr. Greengrass wants his lawn to be tidy and likes the grass cut short. Because he doesn't like mowing but wants to be able to sit outside and read the paper on Sunday mornings and be proud of the smooth lawn, he decides to hire some good young mowers. Two kids agree to mow. Mr. Greengrass's grass on Saturdays for 15 weeks. To make sure they come every single Saturday, he agrees to pay them, at the end of the 15 weeks, $2.00 for every week they mow it - as long as they will give him $3.00 for every week they miss. At the end of the 15 week period, they owe him exactly as much as he owes them, which is good news for Mr. Green grass, but a rotten deal for the kids! How many weeks did they miss?

Answer to the last months puzzle:

Puzzle 1:

99 + (9/9)

Puzzle 2:

First take Goat to target side, leaving wolf and cabbage (harmless combination)
Come back empty
Take Wolf with you to target side.
On other end, leave wolf, but pick up Goat and bring back to source side (at this time, wolf is on target side, cabbage is on source side and goat is with you - harmless combination)
Now take the cabbage to Target side, leaving goat at source, wolf at target
Come back empty (wolf + cabbage on target side, goat on source side - harmless combination)
Take goat to target, you have all the three on target side.
