Math And Reading Programs - for as low as $45.00 per month

Q. What is Remote Learning?
A. Remote Learning is a term used for our Math, Reading and Science learning programs that children do sitting in the comfort of their own home. Study Materials are either mailed home each month or picked up each week from our center for as low as $45.00 per month.

Q. What subject materials do you provide?
A. Math materials for grades K – 12, Spelling, Vocabulary and reading comprehension for grades K – 12 and Science self learning materials for grades 4 through 8.

Q. How does the weekly pick up and drop off work?
A. You determine the day and time of the week. We are open 2 – 7 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 1 on Saturdays. All study materials are neatly comb bound here at our center. At a given time, two workbooks are actively being used. You drop off one and pick up the other for the next week. All workbooks are marked for assigned worksheets for the week. All previous work is corrected and scores maintained before you pick them up the next week. Children are expected to complete all assigned worksheets during the week. The process works smoothly due to long open hours and self explanatory materials.

Q. How do the monthly mailings work?
A. Each month a worksheet collection – bound neatly, is mailed to your home. The children are expected to complete one workbook a month unless they choose fast track which is two workbooks a month.

Q. How are the mailed workbooks corrected?
A. You may choose to have the answer books as well as the score cards
mailed. Parents can check the workbooks and fill score sheets and mail back to us in our self addressed envelopes. Another option to remote students is that they may mail the completed workbooks back to our center and these are corrected at no additional charge by our staff. These are then mailed back with scores to the child with the next mailing.

Q. How do you compare yourself with other centers offering similar programs?
A. First of all our materials have more variety and various types of problems on each topic. There are word problems, and multiple choice type questions which help the children to apply the knowledge they gather when they gather it. The materials are not monotonous and provide excellent coverage of each topic.
Secondly, we are large enough to be structured and small enough to be personal. We are able to customize the worksheet collections for each child, if needed, to suit the child’s learning style. Some children can sit and finish the books cover to cover and others cannot. We work with the parents to find the strategies that work best for their child.
Thirdly, we are not as expensive. Our monthly fees are close to half that of other similar programs. The reason for this cost effectiveness is that we have no franchise fees to pass on to you. We are an independent owned institute following the NTCM standards and bringing in educational excellence that we all grew up with.

Q. How do you monitor the performance of the children?
A. Workbooks that are corrected at our center help us understand the child better and watch where they need more help. We are able to recommend the best academic path. Scores for each topic covered are maintained separately and updated with monthly progress reports. These are communicated to the parents and at the end of each semester, medals and certificates are determined. We have our annual prize distribution ceremony at the end of each year and children receive medals for each successful topic completed here at ATFS. Rewards Program is available on our website which describes the details of required percentages and other criteria for medals and trophies.

Q. What kind of commitment do you expect from each child?
A. Each child is expected to spend about 15 – 20 minutes each day per enrolled subject. The child needs to be enrolled for at least one semester. Semester 1 goes from September to February and Semester 2 goes from March to August. Details on our semester system can be found on our website under MATH curriculum.

Q. Is this a new program that ATFS is launching?
A. ATFS has been offering remote learning for the last 2 and a half years. The program has matured over time and evolved to provide the same standards of quality and commitment as you have come to expect from us for all our other programs.

Q. How do I enroll for this program?

Remote learning page has more details and Remote learning policies are in downloadable format. Other relevant information which can be downloaded are the Rewards program details.
