Introduction


ATFS offers enrichment time during the summer.
These enrichment camps at ATFS are an academically geared programs that keep children brilliantly occupied during the school vacations. The stress free environment blended with active learning techniques keep the child learning and growing into the next academic year. Our focus is on age appropriate MATH, and hands on Science during the summer.
High School Students : Get a head start in the summer. 2 hr class twice a week.

 Ten Themes for Summer - 2009

ATFS students will be doing theme studies during the ten camp weeks of Summer this year. Developmental rate  appropriate, individual and group activities will be custom designed to enrich the child around the designated theme. You may enroll for each week separately or enroll daily.

Week 1(June 22nd):
Activity Theme: Wonders of Nature.
Math Theme: Number properties and Number Operations. Math Facts, estimation, expanded form, and place value.
Science: Weather and Climates of the world

Week 2(June 29th):
Activity Theme:
All Stars: sporting games like football, basketball, soccer, water balloons, Frisbee events and such.
Math Theme: Fractions, decimals, percents and ratios as they apply in real life.
Science Theme: Energy: Its type and sources.

Week 3(July 6th):

Activity Theme: American Spirit Week focus on respect, cooperation, meeting new challenges, inclusion, pride in yourself and your country.
Math Theme: Data Analysis. Data representation, forms and display techniques, mean, median, mode.
Science theme: States of Matter and their interrelations.

Week 4(July 13th):
Activity Theme: Creativity:  provide opportunity for creative problem solving, positive participation, group and individual responsibility.
Math Theme: Creative problem solving. To identify given information, and process. Make your own problems and use strategies to solve.
Science: Scientific methods and instruments.

Week 5(July 20th):
Activity Theme:
Teamwork/Olympic Week:  sportsmanship, positive attitude, forming lasting ties with friends
Math Theme: Geometry and visual thinking: Shapes and sizes, 2 and 3 dimensional, lines and angles, use of protractor and compass
Science: Technology as it applies to construction of bridges, huge structures and buildings. Designing and constructing challenges.

For Summer enrollment, please submit the basic enrollment form and summer intention form 2009 with a $120.00 deposit for new students and $100.00 deposit for ATFS students to reserve a spot per week.

 Summer Camp 2009 (June 22nd - August 28th)

Summer camps will be offered from June 22nd through August 28th, 2009.i.e. a total of 10 weeks. Children may enroll for one or more weeks. Enrollment are now open and are accepted on a first cum first serve basis. A non refundable $100.00 deposit per week is required with the enrollment form. Once accepted, You will receive email confirmation of your child's enrollment.
Daily activities include:

9:00 – 10:00 : prayer & warm up
10:00 – 11:00: Math Time
11:00 – 12:00: Song/skit
12:00 – 1:00: lunch and play
1:00 – 2:00: Hands on Science
2:00 – 3:00: Theme activity
3:00 – 4:00: Hindi
4:00 – 5:00: Summer reading
and journal

Children will have a morning snack and an afternoon snack. Paid snack accounts are available at the center. Children are required to bring lunch from home.
